NBA Offseason Rumor Mill

By Mark Yancey, Group 21
A lot of rumors have been spreading when it came to free agents this year.
Rumors such as Anthony Davis going to the Los Angeles Lakers, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant going to the New York Knicks. Now that the first round of trades are finalized many are surprised to see the outcomes.
Everyone thought Kyrie and Kevin Durant were going to the Knicks but we have recently found out that they are going to the Brooklyn Nets.
The Lakers received Anthony Davis but they traded away two key potential players in Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram. The Boston Celtics received Kemba Walker in the loss of Kyrie.
Not only have trades got people in shock, but since the draft happened recently people are amazed by the super teams coming together. For example, Zion Williamson, who some think will be the next Lebron James, will be going to the New Orleans Pelicans, which is where Lonzo and Ingram were traded.
Also some of the people drafted can replace others, such as Carson Edwards. Since Terry Rozier is also leaving the Boston Celtics, Brad Stevens drafted Edwards because he feels he will be capable of filling that spot.
Another draft pick that was interesting is Ja Morant to the Memphis Grizzlies. His play style is similar to Russell Westbrook’s but with a better shot. So maybe he will be the solution to the Memphis Grizzlies problems.
With all this stuff going on it’s no doubt that the 2019-2020 season will be a one for the books.
